I went to Dr. Simmond's office today for my confirmation appointment with Dr. Ali. She is a new doctor at the practice but I really liked her. Of course it started out with all the paperwork, background questions and nonfun stuff. Then after vitals, which looked good, I got to see my little one up on the screen. She took several pictures for me. I am posting the best one, which isn't the greatest unfortunately. Then we listened to the heart beat which always makes mine beat a little faster because it is just amazing to hear, especially for the fist time. Baby T clocked in with a heart beat of 167/min. Its higher than I remember Trystan's being, but unfortunately after some research on the internet, there is no proven evidence to correlate the heart rate witht the gender of the baby. So that myth was busted but according to the Chinese calendar, this baby will be a girl. I looked back and it was right about Trystan so maybe. We'll have to wait until March before I can say for sure. Until then, its fun to look at Old Wives' tales as to what the baby might be. I have to go get blood work done in next few weeks before next appointment, but since this is my 2nd pregnancy, I don't have to be tested for everything, so maybe 5 viles instead of 8 like last time. Doc says she'll see me in 4 weeks and I am all done. I couldn't wait to get home and tell Ted all about the appointment and show him the pictures. Belly is already making itself known, which is not all that uncommon for 2nd time around I read. Morning sickness has been really rough the past couple weeks or so and it seems like forever until the 2nd trimester, if it even subsides by then. My fingers are crossed because I want to eat real food again.
Weeks Along: 8
Morning Sickness: Oh yes!
Weight Gain: 0
Sleep: Bought a maternity pillow because couldn't sleep well.
Movement: None yet but cant wait.
Gender: Don't know yet.

The Big News
For this pregnancy, Ted and I decided to make the news a Christmas gift to our families and friends. After telling our parents the good news, we told everyone else via their Christmas card letters. The last lines of the letter were as follows:
Now, if you hadn’t guessed by the photo of our family,
For the second time, Tracy is a Mommy to be.
Love ~ Ted, Tracy, Trystan and baby T.
Then we included the photo we took with signs showing Trystan as #1 and an arrow to my belly with #2.
I got the idea off the website pinterest.com and will probably getting several more ideas from there for this pregnancy because it is my new favorite site (thanks to my wonderful cousin Alicia). I am very excited for everyone to know our news. With such wonderful friends and family, this baby will be feeling lots of love sent their way.
